Poseidon's
Fury
|
|
| Book Pulled From (if Any): | N/A but it is an alteration of Burning Blade |
| Description of Ritual: | While this ritual is in effect, the melee weapon's blade of the caster's choice glows and eerie dark blue color, hence the reference to Poseidon. This weapon causes aggravated wounds upon a successful attack. |
| System: | This ritual can only be cast on melee weapons. The caster must cut the palm of her hand during the ritual -- with the weapon, if it's edged, otherwise with a sharp stone. This inflict a single health level of lethal damage which cannot be soaked but may be healed normally. The player soaks the blade in a bowl of water from a natural source (river, lake, ocean, etc.) for two hours then spends three blood points which are absorbed by the weapon. To Cast roll Intelligence + Koldunism (difficulty 5). Once the ritual is cast, the weapon inflicts aggravated damage on all supernatural creatures for the next few successful attacks, one per success rolled. Multiple castings of Poseidon's Fury cannot be "stacked" for longer durations. Furthermore, the wielder of the weapon cannot choose to do normal damage and "save up" aggravated strikes -- each successful attack uses one aggravated strike, until there are none left, at which point the weapon reverts to inflicting normal damage. |
| Diablerie House Rules: | The effects of Poseidon's Fury wear off after 24 hours (aka one night of roleplaying). Poseidon's Fury must be re-cast again the next evening. |
